Kuleko - Wind Turbine
I. GENERAL SITUATION
- The demand for alternative energy sources is currently very high. A portion of this demand is met by traditional/horizontal wind turbines.
Drawbacks of Traditional Wind Turbines:
- Limited application area – not suitable for remote, uneven, or small areas;
- Complexity in construction and manufacturing technology;
- Requires high wind speed (4-5 m/s) to operate;
- Requires significant investment.
Solution: The use of vertical-axis wind turbines.
II. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
- Kuleko is a vertical-axis wind generator with special stationary panels.
- Application areas: Telecommunication facilities, military installations, individual homes and apartments, city and road lighting systems, etc.
- Key components:
- Panel;
- Blade;
- Generator.
- Key Features/Advantages:
- Special panels on all sides of the system enhance efficiency and prevent system braking;
- The system requires a low start speed (1-2 m/s) and automatically activates when the wind blows from any direction;
- Two versions available:
- Off-grid – energy is stored in a battery and used when there is no wind;
- On-grid – directly connected to the grid;
- The system has a controller to prevent motor combustion;
- Since it is a vertical-axis turbine, it requires less space and has broader application potential.
